Quick reaction without looking in any detail: the reportedly lower mutation rate for SARS-CoV-2 than SARS-CoV is surprising to me. Most surprising findings turn out to be wrong, but some of them don’t. The observation of a single sample with possibly lower ACE2 binding affinity is not surprising – it’s only if you see a functional mutation spreading that it becomes of clinical or epidemiological interest.

It seems to me that their sample size is too small to justify their conclusion.
