Animas basketball coach resigns after FFRF intervention - Freedom From...

Please read the ChristianHeadlines.com piece. It has all the relevant facts.

The inflammatory speech is to Todd Starnes Fox News’ who sided with the coach and said,

“It’s a mighty sad day in America when a high school basketball coach is deemed unfit because he is a follower of Jesus,” Starnes wrote.

Todd Starnes is wrong, you can be an excellent basketball coach AND follow Jesus AND obey the laws concerning the Establishment Clause of the US Constitution. Thousands of High School Basketball Coaches are doing that all over the country.

I one-hundred percent agree with you. I just wish Todd Starnes was here so he could have read what was intended for him. Chances are he’s not going to be here ever. I’ve seen his headlines, and they, often are inflammatory and unnecessary as well. I think that there is no room for this inflammatory language among the rest of us. None whatsoever. I try, in my conversations with you here (both publicly and personally) to ensure that we are always discussing issues or seeing commonalities.

When we (here) discuss things, it is among real people. If I go onto a certain threads here and even mention the words “code” or “motor” some will begin to scream and type in all caps. Words mean something and they have an affect on people. If I’m not careful, I’m guilty of using a word as a weapon.

I just think that we can all be more careful so that we don’t damage the relationships with those in our circle in an attempt to shame those who are outside of it.

Todd Starnes tracks FFRF closely and each time we win a Constitutional case, Starnes twists it into FFRF Atheists limiting Christians’ Freedom of Religious Expression. That is never the case, as FFRF only goes after GOVERNMENT failure to be neutral on religion.

FOX News?

Yes. Our President’s favorite news network.

Ugh.

I’m aware. I’m, unfortunately, also aware of the “quality” of their reporting.

What TS does is to inflame his followers / readers. He takes advantage of their existing bent and creates news, often, out of nothing. This is wrong.

Similarly, we also need to be careful to avoid this behavior, else we are equally as guilty as he is.

Thanks again, @patrick. I really do appreciate how you toned down some things that I objected to earlier. And I very much agree with much of what you have posted.
