One of the YEC myths is that the Earth/Moon system was recent in origin and that the length of an Earth day is fixed at 24 hours. Science now knows now that the moon was formed about 90 million years after the Earth and the moon was closer to the Earth. This paper has the Moon closer in at 1.4 billion years ago, resulting in an 18 hour day back then. The length of the day is gradually slowing as the moon moves outward about 4 cm a year.
