We have all read a flurry of articles… the “image” of God is rationality? Or Free Will? Or a moral conpass?
But the one thing that has always distinguished special categories of living beings was an immortal aspect.
Obviously humans are not immune to death… nor can we argue that they were made immune to death (there would not have been a Tree of Life if that were true).
But if the “image” (sometimes translated as “shade” or “shadow”) is not immortality of the body… but immortality of the SPIRIT… that would be the faintest trace of the Divine!!
