I assume that Dr. Gauger posted something which brought this topic to mind. Can you remind us of that post? I think I missed it.

Ann was talking here about how difficult it was for a women in science to balance doing scientific research and having children. This Empathy Director wasn’t very emphatic to pregnant scientists in her group so I told @Agauger would resonate with the women scientists in that group.

That brings to mind a young single woman I knew in grad school who used to recycle an old joke about her plight: “Being a woman in a postgraduate science program is a lot like being a somatic cell. Once we specialize, we rarely reproduce.”
