Since the article isnt going to say God made the water buffalo, it is the only remaining conclusion.

Which claim specifically? There’s 2 in that sentence.
- Animals evolved from unicellular ancestors
- Animals have 30-40 distinct anatomical designs.
The first claim is a premise - a starting point for the article, not a focus of it. The article wasn’t looking for evidence for the animal unicellular ancestor, many other studies have established that.
The second claim is supported by the results in the new paper, but shouldn’t be too controversial.
