It’s Principle Components analyis (or related method), decomposing the data into eigenvalues and eigenvectors. There are at least 11 non-zero eigenvalues, or maybe more but only 11 worth considering. So we have an 11 dimensional mathematical representation of the data, not 11dimensions in time and space. No need to break out the TARDIS on this one.
