This is fine, along with things like GMO disease resistant papayas.

I’m not too happy about BT-corn, however. Not that it’s a direct hazard for humans and other vertebrates but that it wastes a perfectly good pesticide through overexposure and has off-target effects on other potentially beneficial insects.
