# Is there really information being conveyed within a cell?

Agreed. In addition to being pseudoscience supported by falsehoods extending to the objective evidence itself, IDcreationism is lousy theology because it diminishes God by turning Him into a tinkerer who is completely unable to replace one mechanism with a better one (unlike what we do in human design all the time) and therefore reuses what He has to a ridiculous extent. Evolution is severely constrained, the living fossil of a ribozyme at the heart of modern translation being an example.

As just one of many other examples, the alleged “design choice” of receptor protein families that are merely selective, not specific for their ligands (created by gene duplication and divergence), coupled with a huge number of receptors, feeding into a tiny number of second-messenger pathways, is responsible for most drug side effects.
