Meanwhile at Biologos nothing new happened

Have others notices how quiet Biologos has become. Nothing new, an occasional new article, very quiet forum.

I tried to go there in the past few days and look for convos to jump into. But not the same. I still like a lot of the people there, but clearly the restructuring (and loss of grant money) is having its toll. I still wish them well. Hopefully I’ll see Brad and Jim at ETS next week…assuming they’ll be there as they have in the past few years.

If you see Brad, tell him I said hello. :sunglasses:

What grant money did they lose? I thought they were just awarded a JTF grant for their podcast. Did I miss something?

Sorry, I’m being sloppy. What I understand (perhaps not well) is that BioLogos was given for a set number of years money from the Templeton foundation, but those years expired. I thought this was the reason for the scaling back of their fellows. Nothing sinister, just timing and set limitations. I’ll retract if mistaken.

According to their Form 990, they are still paying a yearly salary of $133,000 to Deb Haarsma. Must not be hurting that much.

Their currently active grants:

The part I don’t understand is why they needed to raise $25K for podcast (Money call from Biologos), when they just raised $2M for a podcast from Templeton. What is that money being used for exactly? I must be naive, but I thought podcasts were inexpensive.
