In this case, though, advanced life would not be necessary. Just life. So if simple life evolved elsewhere, it could have been carried by some inanimate vehicle (a very small rock, say…), propelled at a very fast speed by solar winds, and deposited on the earth. It then would have become intelligent life, responsible for Star Wars. 
I am also disinclined to believe that intelligent life exists… maybe anywhere…
