Stephen Hawking’s 2nd to last paper: [1707.07702] A Smooth Exit from Eternal Inflation? proposes a finite multiverse model.
Can you unpack this for us?
Any chance of it being true? any empirical evidence/ testable predictions?
or is it just playing with math?
Edit: I tried to understand more of the paper through explanations made by others.
The bottomline seems to be that Stephen Hawkings version of things rules out the usefulness of the “multiverse” to explain the fine tuning problem.
Strangely enough, Science magazie put out an article that claims the paper points to a Single universe. I am attaching the article, could you go through and tell me if its an accurate representation of what the paper claims.
