It’s not just Davidson and Erwin. Once again, you show huge gaps in your knowledge of contemporary evolutionary thought. Scores of evolutionary theorists have been involved in research concerning the evolution of animal body plans. You may not keep up with the discussions because you are so involved with one-celled critters who don’t have “body plans.” The concern that classical theory doesn’t explain the origin of animal body plans is expressed by many, not just by two or three fringe kooks. The Wagners and others write about this frequently. But you seem oblivious that the discussion is even occurring. And it’s discussion among people who are mostly anti-ID and non-religious, so it’s not motivated by any ID or creationist plot.
