it would be very impressive, but would not give us one iota more information about how complex biological organisms like Craig Venter arose before there were any complex biological organisms like Craig Venter around to create them.

It would validate that a mind is a mechanism that can build a complex biological trait. Just as the eclipse experiment validated that sufficient amounts of matter can curve space-time.
