I must admit I found that thread, with its frequently-broken quote-markup, rather hard to follow.
He’s also active on Reddit, including claiming that graphing positive fitness as ‘up’ on graphs is some kind of “atheist” plot.
His reception there doesn’t seem to be particularly positive either – which is perhaps why he tried his hand at PS.
It would seem that John, Faizal & myself aren’t the only ones finding him less than coherent.
Then I’m curious as to why he created a new thread just a day before his intended absence, rather than simply making a final post on his previous thread before you closed it. It’s not as though the topics of his threads seem particularly distinguishable.
The Genesis creation story is just that - a story. Human origins as being written daily by evolutionary biology and genetics is science in action. Science is fact based and progresses. The progress in understanding human origins using ancient genomes has been spectacular in the past 10 years.
Dunno. I never bothered to reply in his threads. Didn’t even read them. The whole thing looked silly from day one imo so I just never took the bait.
Nostalgic even. I haven’t been active over there for years. Dropped in once in a while just to see what was happening but it’s been very low activity for a looong time.
Yeah the forum is actually quite ancient. It started around 2010 or so IIRC. Anyway, the platform has been updated several times and I guess at some point a lot of the old posts broke due to compatibility issues, sadly.
I just can’t be bothered. Someone is giving me even a vaguely Bill Cole/Otangelo-like feeling and I’m out. Life’s too short replying to these nugatory individuals who want to keep arguing for argument’s sake. I’ve become old, disillusioned, and cynical about the whole endeavour.
