Looking up stuff about Doug Axe, I came across this quote from the Discovery Institute: Critics such as Arthur Hunt and Steve Matheson, have argued that Dr. Axe’s paper should not be seen as supporting intelligent design. Of course, the author of the paper in question should be trusted to have the best perspective on the subject. I see. So, for example, when Michael Behe claims that Richard Lenski’s work fails to show that evolutionary processes can account for the number of adaptive functions evident in biology and Lenski disagrees, that should be the end of the discussion. After all, “the author of the paper in question should be trusted to have the best perspective on the subject.” Good to know.

No irony meters please. So unfortunately often, one can tell the weakness of evidence from the strength of unsubstantial rhetoric.
