Part 2 of Behe's response to his Lehigh colleagues

It’s a perfectly fine explanation as accepted by virtually every professional in the scientific community. You just mean it’s hard for you as a religiously motivated layman to accept.

There are mechanisms in the cell that keep the degradation in check.

So you are in denial of the existence of the EES and the meeting in London in 2016?

Are you claiming the EES doesn’t accept natural selection? Wow. You’re taking straw grasping to a new low level Bill.

Everyone accepts natural selection. The argument is about how much it explains.

Science accepts it as the amazingly well supported explanation why life hasn’t gone extinct from “sequence degradation” in over 3.5 billion years. Bill the religious layman with zero supporting evidence disagrees. Who to believe, hmmm?

Perhaps you should let Behe know that.

Of course he knows this.

You need to pay attention to the whole discussion. There are mechanisms in and outside the cell that limit sequence degradation. What evolution cannot explain is the origin of novel complex sequences.

There’s that negative argument again.

Repeating the same already disproven canard won’t make the canard come true Bill.

Sure but there is a positive argument that follows.

Thats right it is not. A mind being a source of large amounts of functional information is a positive argument.

You forgot your positive evidence a mind produced the functional information seen in biological organisms. One more in a long list of failures for ID-Creationism. :slightly_smiling_face:

He is showing no such thing. He is claiming this in the face of overwhelming evidence to the contrary. However, since his intended audience consists of people like yourself, the evidence does not matter to him.

That is exactly his claim. I made the same point in another thread a while ago.

“Ridiculous” is putting it mildly.

What overwhelming evidence is that?

There are several threads here that go thru the evidence. Educate yourself.

You need to support your own claim. There are arguments on both sides.

He’s claiming that, Bill. Even the data he cites show otherwise.
