@JoeG has been defamatory in other threads. I agree @patrick was unkind. Give me a moment and I’ll adress this with more specificity.
Dawkins is working for social change. Immediately this conflicts with Islam and since Dawkins is in the UK and Islamic influence in UK and Europe is greater than in America. His work in America for social change conflicts with Evangelical Christianity.
Dawkins would have two words to educated intelligent people who studied evolution and decided that it wasn’t factual about how life works on Planet Earth - FUCK OFF.
Dawkins is about being about social change. He is no longer a working scientist. Every area of social change that he feels strongly about is opposed by both Islam and Christianity.
I would hope that Evangelicals would adopt the scientific understanding of the day regarding the beginning of the universe, the establishment of life on Earth, and who we are and how we got here. And to stop using an ancient book to figure out how to live a good life in today’s world.
@Patrick… the whole point is that Special Creation of Adam and Eve, like the resurrection of Jesus, are relatively harmless but crucial elements of a Christian’s embrace of his faith… which does not make pro-evolutionary ideas a fatal problem.
