Exactly. Evolution can both increase and decrease complexity. There is no arrow of evolution. And it’s already been pointed out that you can have no idea of the genomes of ancient sponges, since you reject phylogenetics.

Nobody ever said anything about a starting point until just now. We were supposedly talking about sponges and animals in general. Very, very far from “the first creature on earth”. Further, you’re always confusing modern sponges with ancient sponges. You can’t know anything about the latter.
