One hopes not. First, confusion over what “kind” means, which to creationists is quite specific. Second, while perhaps comforting to creationists, this talk of God using evolution is meaning-free unless you refer to some sort of direct intervention, like reaching down and causing preferred mutations. The analogy of using evaporation for rain certainly illustrates that. God doesn’t have to use anything; it happens all by itself. It makes as much sense to say that I use evaporation for rain as it does to say that God does, since we have equal agency in the matter.
That much makes sense. But all he has to do to respond is remind everyone that he doesn’t posit a Godless universe. There doesn’t seem much point in the rest of it.
