In spite of my misgivings, I made an honest attempt to engage with this thread’s stultifying format. The reward that I got for this (and what one of the @moderators described as my “obvious restraint”) was a response from @Rope that I found to be patronising and a mischaracterisation of my posts, and seemed aimed more at point-scoring than in any attempt to honestly engage me.
I am therefore withdrawing from this thread. I will repost the post that was originally in this position on a new side conversation, and address Kojonan’s response there.
