I grew up interested in astronomy, geography and geology and they are continuing interests (although my degree wasn’t in any of those fields). Also interested in history. I am of a Lutheran background. I accept the Nicene Creed and I accept conventional science. When I was growing up no one at home or at church tried to teach me that there was a conflict between science and faith so I was relatively unconflicted about things. It is not that I think there are always easy answers, it is just that I was spared choosing between what I think are false dichotomies, the way some churches frame the issue. My way of thinking is different from fundamentalism and also different from postmodernism, as I understand it.
Some modern thinkers who have influenced me: Dietrich Bonhoeffer, Karl Popper, Pope Benedict XVI/Joseph Cardinal Ratzinger. I do programming and data analysis in Information Systems.
