I am a YEC opposed to the status quo YEC claim that

“Genesis 1 is not about how the proper Complete Creation most profoundly works, but about how God, in merely His power and freedom, chose to create it. The two have only some things in common, because that’s what God, in His superior wisdom, chose. It’s the most truly wise logically possible option, in that _____.”

In other words, I am opposed to the popular YEC hermeneutic that says,

“The plainness of Genesis 1 MUST be that contingent upon merely God’s power and freedom. Thus, His design of the Completed Creation must take mere subsidiary status in interpreting the account, despite how much we find that that design is God’s genuine self-expression.”
