A leading researcher at NIH on processed food resigns citing censorship.

Don’t want to summarize the story. Read his own remarks here:

It’s incredibly disturbing, but certainly not surprising under the current government. What’s also not surprising to see is the reaction by (seemingly) Trump supporters. By and large, they are NOT even denying what happened. They don’t pretend to care about free speech anymore. They all implying that Kevin Hall deserved this… claiming that the NIH is the one responsible for all the health issues related to food (and presumably other things). One person also accused Kevin Hall of hypocrisy because a paper was behind a paywall… as if the private journals are not the ones doing this.

Scientists have now become the go-to scapegoat for MAGA to blame for all the woes of public health, which in their eyes apparently justifies censorship. That’s right, not the private companies which deliberately design food to be as tasty as possible but not nutritious nor filling so people buy more and overeat; and fund lobbyists in government to oppose any health regulations… NO… MAGA morons blame the scientists in the same way they scapegoat immigrants for “stealing jobs” and being “welfare leeches” instead of the corporate bosses who want to keep you economically desperate and thus willing to work hard for as little pay as possible.

This is the result of effective propaganda campaign of shifting blame away from the elite class (people like Trump and Musk) who are the ones in power.
