This observation (rampant recombination in the genome sequence of the spike protein) and others are what make the zoonosis hypothesis remain the most plausible explanation for the emergence of SARS-COV-2.

That makes it the most plausible explanation for the origin of the SARS-CoV-2 spike gene. It doesn’t really tell us about how the virus got into humans.
