He is, isn’t he? Culturally assimilated to the trendy new ideas, but throws the baby out with the bathwater and the people aren’t interested in his nice new statue!

Yes, it really interested me as to why the people preferred the old, ugly statue with its blood sacrifice. It spoke to their deepest fears and comforts.
