Evolution does not prove that – it is part of your belief system and is not a demonstrable fact just because they exist.
Wrong. They are accounts of objective, empirical observations that anyone can confirm for themselves.
It’s an account that is supported by all observed evidence and contradicted by none. Your account has no evidence to support it.
So we win. Sorry.
Exactly. That others trust and do not necessarily and maybe cannot reproduce for themselves, because of time and equipment or other circumstances.
Exactly. Your victory dance is premature.
Irrelevant. Your equation of things that always can be, and often are, replicated with things that cannot be replicated even in principle is fallacious, and obviously so. Of course, you refuse to accept this.
I don’t see much point in continuing this discussion. The point has been made.
It seems that you have to use such a vague definition of faith in order to include science that it ends up being meaningless. If I see a cloud in the sky, you seem to think that I am using faith if I conclude there is a cloud in the sky. Is there anything you wouldn’t call faith?
Not much. You are indeed trusting your senses, are you not? (Remember synesthesia?) You guys really are allergic to the word, aren’t you.
The point has been made that we all implicitly use faith and trust in all kinds of testimony all the time. If you don’t like it, you lose, @Faizal_Ali.
Why is it important to you to slap the faith label on everything?
I’m just being realistic. Why is it important to you to refuse it?
Realistically, religious faith is quite different from reporting data in scientific papers.
It’s not that important. What I find most interesting is what it says about how you view faith and science. I don’t see anyone saying that religious faith is just another type of science. I think it indicates something about the hierarchy of knowledge that you see.
Visit the conversation(s) about MN. That is not all there is.
You would be correct – it is more realistic. (The Carpenter from Galilee also speaks to global warming/climate change and fear, you may recollect from previous discussions.)
