Cool stuff! I’ve been following the work of Dr. Thornton in resurrecting ancient genes for a number of years now. Amazing they can actually transplant some of these ancient genes into living creatures and observe firsthand some of the critical events in evolutionary history.
Countdown to the Disco Tute’s band of Bozos claiming this is really more evidence for Intelligent Design…4…3…2…

Yep, that’s a really amazing paper. Ever since I heard of the concept of ancestral sequence reconstruction I’ve been itching to see it applied to evo-devo, and that study is a brilliant example.

I think it’s more likely they will list the experiments limitations and completely ignore the fact that the authors addressed them in the paper.
