Of course it matters. There are countless different scenarios that could possibly cause the continents to move rapidly, but which one we choose will drastically change all the factors at play. We don’t know the cause.
If we’re going to talk about this, you need to stop with the generalities and start going into specifics.
Surely that must be nothing more than speculation, since experimental/empirical/observational/operational science can’t be done with the past.
Earlier on I had mostly been studying evidence from genetics, but lately I’ve been brushing up on geology and paleontology stuff also.
If you’re going to ignore the laws of physics and claim “miracles!” you have lost your scientific case.
Specific models are speculation, but the fact that it happened is something we learn from the word of God, therefore is not speculation.
You haven’t provided even the tiniest bit of evidence that you’ve ever looked at any evidence, much less studied it.
Didn’t you just go through a whole diatribe about how we can’t learn anything from those “historical” sciences? Want to come back when you get your story straight?
But that has nothing to do with science. You’re claiming that science supports YEC, yet you haven’t managed to mention any.
Why not go over to Paul Price ? You can peruse the articles I’ve written, some of which do deal with specific evidences.
No, you have to pick something relevant and explain it here.
Why not note which ones do? Have you forgotten?
Why don’t you go to the YEC evidence thread here and present some of what you consider the best?
What evidence support the YEC hypothesis over the mainstream science?
Then we can discuss the fatal scientific flaws in your fantasizing.
I looked. I found nothing resembling scientific evidence for anything. Maybe there’s something buried under an unsuggestive title, but I don’t feel like digging that far.
You asked why were continents moving? Answers in Genesis:
Creation scientists believe, along with their secular colleagues, that there is good observational evidence that is consistent with an original supercontinent in the past that was split apart, and that today’s continents moved to their present positions on the earth’s surface. However, the main difference is the timing!
Whereas our secular colleagues believe these processes were slow and gradual over millions of years, creation scientists insist it all took place by catastrophic means, involving continental sprint rather than continental drift .
Actually, I didn’t. You’re thinking of someone else.
I didn’t see anything there addressing the question of why the continents were moving.
Me too. It was all about what people say, as predicted by the hypothesis that @PDPrice lacks faith that the actual evidence will support his wishful thinking.
Creation Scientists believe in Catastrophic Continental Sprint. It’s right there. Now provide a scientific model.
That doesn’t answer the question I asked.
Why? I’ll let you provide whatever motive you like. Whatever is easiest for you to show us the scientific evidence or provide a model of Catastrophic Continental Sprint.
