I think that itās a matter of the mass of evidence, not whether something happened in the distant past.
Do you realize that the predictions we expect of scientific hypotheses are about things we donāt know, and not about things that must happen in the future?
The first Christians to modify their views of Genesis 1 were the geologistsā¦ and I donāt know a more impressive corpus of evidence than what the Geologists have ādug upā (pun intended!).
Physicsā¦ chemistry ā¦ this isnāt fuzzy-wuzzy biology and capriciously folding protein moleculesā¦
Karl Giberson started off a totally committed Creationist in the mold of Henry Morris! Karl, a true northerner (from Canada), even got a degree from the same school as Henry Morris.
There was just one snag: Karl got his advanced degree in Physics. And even though he taught physics in an evangelical college ā¦ the science he was teaching was teaching him. And thatās how he ended up being one of the founders of BioLogos! Maybe it was best that BioLogos didnāt kick off until 2007, a year after Karlās original inspiration, Henry Morris, had died at age 87?
