After the seminar, I’ll post a summary of my conclusions here (under a new thread title), but the bottom line won’t be “the vast majority of the genome is probably functional.” Claims of function require evidence, not mere assertion, and obtaining good evidence for function is laborious.
But I hope my conclusions will be surprising and interesting anyway.
