Spotted in a Mephisto crossword this morning:

I wasn’t writing answers in when I spotted (and solved) it, but I can provide some letters if needed.

(P.S. I think the clue is slightly flawed)

OK, I’m guessing that “one to get fired up” is the definition, for which you must find an anagram (“crushed”) of a word meaning “evolution-denier” and remove the letter “m” (“wanting Darwinism finally”). Is that correct, or is it something else? In either case, I got nothin’.

CREMATIONIST - ‘M’ in CREATIONIST; crushed meaning ‘squeezed’]

I might have clued it as: Darwinism finally crushed by evolution-denier - he fires people up! (12) Or maybe ‘accepted’ instead of ‘crushed’.
