Interesting new paper:
I admit that I haven’t yet read the Bergström, Stringer and Skoglund review, but the abstract sounds very sensible and in line with population genetic thinking: getting to modern humans does not involve just one magic trait and does not involve events in one magic place. So my reaction is roughly the same as John’s. (Now to read the actual article and see whether they have said this in the body of the paper).
