I think that under ID theory we should not be surprised to encounter many cases of optimal design in the biological world, which is not the case under unguided evolution. Also, if life was designed, we should expect to observe in living creatures hallmarks of design such as IC systems or objects exhibiting high FI.
Do you think humans are apes? How about monkeys?
Yes, I think humans and monkeys are apes in the sense that they belong to the ape clade. That doesn’t mean that humans are monkeys.
Anyway, where are the abrupt pathways you are not surprised to see?
For example, what about the abrupt appearance of flying insects?
Ah, so God is limited in the same way that human designers are? He sometimes can’t see the end goal and is forced to tinker around until he comes upon it. Is your deity not omniscient, then?
Your characterization of God as a being that sometimes can’t see the end goal and is forced to tinker around until he comes upon it seems unwarranted to me.
Still, since he’s for some reason your chosen expert on ID, and you have already said he wouldn’t recognize a kangaroo or a coconut as designed, are you not agreeing that life isn’t designed? Your word, I recall, was “natural”.
What I am saying is that he would likely have recognize an individual kangaroo or coconut as the natural outcome of natural reproduction, the same way he recognizes all the known animals or plants of his natural environment. As for his take regarding the ultimate origin of all these animals in the first place, this is another issue I am unable to address given my ignorance of the cultural views of Stone Age men.
Anyway, look above at my various questions that you have so far ignored.
I’ve tried (see above)
