It’s a metaphor, not a hypothesis.

In biology, metaphors are explanatory devices that invariably become invalid as one digs deeper into a subject.


Seems very tendentious and its goal is to vanquish a strawman Dawkins. Not thrilled.

Another person who didn’t read the book. Yawn. Dawkins spends time explicitly correcting this fellows misapprehension with regards to selection at the level of “individuals”(which could be cells) vs “genes”.
