The Laws of Love

Not so much. In the NT, we are now adopted children and we should want to obey the laws of love, not because we have to, but because we want Father’s smile (and don’t want to grieve the Holy Spirit, whom we should also love). The laws of love are encapsulated most concisely in the two greatest commandments, but also less concisely in the big Ten. (They are all laws of love, you might notice.) And then throughout the whole NT, the laws of love are expanded upon and expounded.

I remember reading in a review of a book about the Sabbath commandment at Amazon where an atheist thought that all American Christians were hypocrites because they liked monuments of the Ten Commandments but only intend to keep nine – maybe not hypocrites so much as poorly taught and poor in thought and heart. See The Lord’s Day of Rest.
