And that is quote-mining.

It’s also misleading as there are six paragraphs^[1] and a section heading omitted from the middle of that ‘quote’, with no ellipsis to mark the jump.

@jeffb: You really should use ellipses to mark where you’ve joined two separated quotes together. If nothing else, it will increase the amount of text you can omit from about 100 pages^[2] to several books.
