That’s of course an option too, I was just trying to address the “they can’t all be right” comment. You are right that they could all be wrong.
We have common ground if you agree these are extremest beliefs. Everyone has beliefs the question is what you do with them.
What if we do have an adversary and what if he does produce counterfeits?
And what if one of them is your god?
He isn’t, so it’s not a problem.
Ah, but how do you know? But I see you are only willing to entertain a limited selection of “what ifs”.
It was a rhetorical question to @Jordan. It was not a real ‘what if’.
That is something you will not understand until you experience the reality of the God who is.
Still, wouldn’t you suppose that all those other religious people think their god is real in exactly the same way you do? What makes you think they’re being deceived and you aren’t? Seems a bit arrogant.
So be it. It does not change the reality.
Agreed. Of course that too was arrogant, at least the way you meant it in your head.
I know who my Father is. That is not arrogance, it is merely confidence.
From your side, confidence. From my side, arrogance. Tomayto, tomahto. I think the difference may be your confidence not only that you’re right but that all those other folks are wrong, even though, objectively speaking, their experiences are pretty much the same as yours.
I can see how that would be. However…
Smug, too.
Smug/arrogant or justified confidence, I know who my Father is. Maybe you are the arrogant one thinking you have the wherewithal to judge?
Don’t forget about the Mormons
And Jehovah Witnesses.
OK, there’s probably enough arrogance to go around for everyone. I think we’re done.
