Pevaquark Wonders About Theology and the Genealogical Adam

Could be I’ve completely missed something. I was under the impression that GA was proposing that everyone alive today had some interaction with a recent Adam even if most of their ancestry was to contemporaries of Adam. I can certainly see how mixing is ubiquitous over long periods of time. I’ll go back and re-read the main documents as I’m feeling a bit lost.

@Joel_Duff,

I dont think you have any of the premises incorrect. But I do think you have some of the processes incorrectly assessed.

It literally only requires one person to co-opt an entire population under a genealogical “mantle” or “authority”.

So if an Adam offspring arrives in the islands and settles there permanently 10,000 years ago (or 7,000 or 3,000 yrs ago) … are you telling us that you would be able to tell modern peers if that historic newcomer had any offspring?
