Yes, but he’s likely to find rational and pragmatic reasons to do some thing that have a good chance of destabilising the world – Taiwan, bullying of his neighbours (Philippines, India, Vietnam, etc), and continuing China’s unsustainable debt-fueled over-investment and export-led growth model (with a decent chance of massive internal instability when it eventually breaks down).
Every human being should be required to watch and understand this:

I recall when CNN was covering the Jan 6 riot, and Jake Tapper said something to the effect of “Remember what you are watching on your screen right now. In the days, months and years to come the gaslighting will start and they will try to convince you this never happened.”
I thought he was crazy. Everyone was seeing this right before their eyes. How could they deny it? Oh, I was so young and naive back then.

I was struck by the last line of an NBC website article explaining that an ICE official stated that “ICE officers are also instructed that firing at a vehicle will not make it stop moving in the direction of the officer.”
Apparently one can not take for granted that ICE officers have the basic physics comprehension of a 12-year-old. Inertia is not a concept they grasp?

I feel like I’m going insane. I remember the days immediately after Jan 6 when Republicans and Democrats alike were condemning the coup attempt. My history teacher at the time, who tried to be very nonpartisan, was clear that this was something everyone agreed was unacceptable. The Democrats aren’t the ones rewriting history here.

And yet another federal cover up has begun, according to the Washington Post:
Authorities initially said the investigation into what happened was being conducted by the Minneapolis Bureau of Criminal Apprehension (BCA), a state agency, and the FBI. The Minneapolis Police Department described them both as “leading the investigation.”
On Thursday morning, however, the BCA said in a statement that it had been told by the FBI that the U.S. attorney’s office in Minneapolis “had reversed course: the investigation would now be led solely by the FBI, and the BCA would no longer have access to the case materials, scene evidence or investigative interviews necessary to complete a thorough and independent investigation.”
As a result, the BCA said, the agency “reluctantly” pulled out of the investigation.
