your killing me… When was Joules invented. When what E=MC2 invented. Who says what metric is?
You can check the “History” section of the Wikipedia entry.
I’m afraid the answer is that people do look into evolution, in very considerable depth, and that when they do that with careful and rigorous analytical methods they find that the faunal succession, laid out in the fossil record, is one of a number of compelling lines of evidence showing that evolution did happen, can happen and is happening. We have good stratigraphy for our planet, we have a good understanding of what the oceans and land masses have done for a long while, and we have series of creatures which lay the development of major lineages like the chordates out in massive detail. But if you want to know about these lines of evidence in detail there’s a lot to read, and it’s not all terribly easy going.
Not if you adjust to appropriate units on both sides. When an equation accurately reflects reality, it will be insensitive to changes in the units. It is of course true that if you change the units on ONE side of an equation, you can make it false. But why would anyone do that? One meter equals one meter. Change meters on one side to feet, without a multiplier to correct for the change in units, and you get “one meter equals one foot.” But that’s not a negation of the proposition that a meter equals a meter; it’s a demonstration that units are important to correctly expressing real quantities.
Tell it to Hiroshima.
You evidently have no understanding of math, or physics, or anything really, in science. So devoid of understanding, you apparently think you have spotted a fundamental error that evaded brilliant minds such as Oppenheimer and Feynman which actually developed nuclear weaponry and reactors. Do not flatter yourself, your folksy ramblings do not mean that you have perceptive insights which cut though the clutter and reveal common sense truth, whereby the unschooled and foolish things of this world confound the wise, or the donkey lectures the prophet. Rather, they simply mean you are making a public spectacle of yourself.
If you wish to learn anything, start by accepting that others more qualified than yourself in their subject areas know what they are talking about.
Of course, you can lead a donkey to water, but you cannot make it drink.
Its the other way round. Our DNA is highly similar to that of other great apes, with Chimpanzees and Bonobos being the most similar to us. This high similarity alongside other things tell us that we and other great apes are descendants from a common ancestral population (just as how the extreme similarity between individual human genomes indicate that all modern humans share a common ancestor).
Look at the side-by-side comparison of all human and chimp chromosomes. First, is a cartoon version:
Notice how chromosome bands align beautifully in both human and chimp chromosomes. That’s one excellent line of evidence for our shared ancestry with other great apes.
You can add in the chromosomes of other great apes and the overall similarity is still maintained, although Chimp chromosomes are more similar to ours than that of Gorillas and Orangutans as shown below (with actual bands):
Now you know one of the reasons why humans and other great apes share a common ancestor.
The cytogenetic data I shared above tells you scientists do not make up claims about human evolution, but base their ideas about it on solid evidence.
Really? Let’s see:
Yes you can. And it’s E=mc^2; you seem to be ignorant that ‘M’ and ‘m’ don’t mean the same thing, nor do ‘C’ and ‘c’.
This is called “unit conversion”.
300,000,000 metres per second = 186,000 miles per second = 1,080,000,000 kilometres per hour = 0.3 parsecs per year = 1,800,000,000,000 furlongs per fortnight.
You appear to be ignorant of it.
His name was Joule, not Joules. More ignorance.
Joule died when Einstein was just 10 years old. They never colluded. You’d have known that if you weren’t so ignorant.
So you’re ignorant of the theory behind Einstein’s equation, and physics in general.
… and ignorant of when Einstein formulated that equation as well as how.
So your ignorant of human and chimp DNA being sequenced and of them being directly compared.
Is there anything you aren’t ignorant of?
But not you, right? Otherwise you’d know that it was Siemens who proposed that heat units be named Joules.
Nowadays ignorance of such things is trivial to cure. What’s your excuse?
I do not have the foggiest ability to interpret a genome other than a childish concept of it. Other than putting a putting a tall horse beside a tall moose sort of science I couldn’t tell you the difference. Neither can 99.999% of scientists. I would bet there is only a handful of people who could sequence a genome on the planet and then say oh, look, that is a ape or antelope or that is a banana. Considering, (cause they say so) that there is huge chunks of DNA exactly the same across many species, it appears there is common things needed for life. One might assume that this means that they evolved from one common ancestor, but they cant say that.
None of which was my original point. the Original point was that All 7 billion humans have something like 99.9% of the exact same DNA with a small portion that alters every sort of variation we see in the human race and if anything it proves that we come from one line, Call them Adam and Eve, but there is only one line. Chimps and Apes may or may not have had a common ancestor ONLY because of matchy matchy in a child like way. But as for humans, they are statistically Identical to one another all 7 billion of them.
I believe most people are smarter than myself… And when someone here shows they are, I will add them to the list. on this side subject of E=MC2 only one person grazed the issue with sufficient understanding of my point. Relating meters to both sides of the equation. The Joule being force needed to movement of an object 1 meter. define the size of that object etc. It all becomes more complex. But relating that to light traveling 300,000,000 per second may make the reason for adding C in the equation reasonable. But without a connection the number should be 900,000,000. And C really never had nothing to do with the equation at all. in fact once you square something its not the number any more. Its 300,000,000 times more than that number. If there was a notion that resistance of movement was based on some math equation of circling magnetic fields and so the Squaring of the number has meaning great. But there is no indication anyone involved then or now sees any of this in the mechanics of atoms or could at content to the explanation like saying Pi R squared or V = 4 / 3πr³ has some relationship to the motion such that squaring light explains something about Mass in relation to light speed but there is nothing of that. tossing C in there is nonsense. C in meters. not feet. Not in miles per second.
And the point of all that is that people are blind to what is in front of them.
You lose, and in fact many of the people responding to you right here could do that, with the aid of any genetic database such as GenBank. It takes only minimal competence.
This is not in fact true. There are small chunks,
ultra-conserved elements, that are identical across large numbers of species, but that isn’t what you seem to be talking about.
No, that’s not why we conclude common ancestry.
If this can be translated into English, it also is not true. What’s true is that if you compare two randomly selected humans, they will be 99.9% similar. But most of the genome is variable within humans, and different randomly selected people will be different in different places. There is no one line in the sense you mean of one pair of ancestors. Instead there’s a large population of interbreeding ancestors. Ask @swamidass about that.
The tie in is that Joule was convinced there was a relationship between motion and heat. And believed in the conservation of energy. So my point is, C either has a part in the equation suggesting it is the reason it is part of the conversion theory OR it should be taken out of the equation and the number 900,000,000 should be in its place. His Ideas of how energy is converted etc. is pretty brilliant. I was just reading up now because people got all excited about my comment and he was met with skepticism by the scientific community. crickets. really. So, I don’t think its much to ask why Albert put C into the equation. Was it more than the squared number? 900,000,000 ? no one here ever even grasped the thought before. And it just shows you that stuff can be right in front of you and you cant see it.
That’s nice. Was there a point?
Sure, the point is, he shows that we are basically Identical except for a small portion of our DNA, I do not recall exactly how many base pairs… its worth a watch.
Nope. He doesn’t. Does he even mention it? Again, it’s true that your genome is probably 99.9% identical to mine, and we could say the same for almost any comparison between two people. But that doesn’t mean what you think it means. On the other hand, the human species shares conserved allelic variation at several loci with other apes and monkeys, and there are at some loci more than 4 such conserved alleles. That means it’s impossible for there ever to have been only two humans.
Look at the bands, that’s all. See how they almost perfectly align for all chromosomes. If I had put two human chromosomes side-by-side that way, they would look extremely similar as seen between chimps and humans in the cytogenetic maps I showed you. This overwhelming degree of similarity between human and chimp DNAs tell us humans and chimps (and other great apes) share a common ancestor. That’s an unavoidable conclusion.
People don’t pick DNA from thin air to sequence. Its gotten from dead or living organisms. If I isolate and sequence banana DNA, then I know its banana DNA. Similarly, if I find the bones of a Neanderthal, isolate DNA from it and sequence that DNA, I know its Neanderthal DNA.
If the source of sequenced DNA or RNA is not known, it can be compared to other sequences in nucleotide sequence databases around the world to identify the DNA source.
In addition, its quite easy for anyone to sequence DNA with little training and equipment.
Homology is concluded when similarity is excessive. You accept all humans share a common ancestor since their DNA is 99.9% identical counting just single nucleotides. The same applies to chimps and us as our DNAs are 98.7% identical. We and chimps share a common ancestor.
All 7 billion people today share a common ancestor with the several thousands of Chimps and Bonobos in the wild.
Look at the cytogenetic bands I showed you. That’s powerful evidence for shared ancestry between the great apes (which includes us). Those same bands also show that all humans are descended from a common ancestor because of the extensive homology between the compared chromosomes.
My point in posting that link, is that the Joule was named after Joule, not by Joule.
I’m pretty sure you could find the full explanation on the web, if you looked. You really are well out of your depth when you argue about relativity.
I had to look… He says in his representation that there are 262,000 pages of code in those volumes he has on stage, and of that approximately 500 pages are the difference between you and I. AND he says out of 3 billion letters 5 million define our differences…
I would add, even these letters are exactly the same in a sense that changing eye color might be a variable but they are all the same bundle not a change making us different humans and likely 495 pages of that 500 pages have the same sort of in the ball park similar stuff that each human has and so really it would mean we are only lets say 5 types of people among those 500 pages and likely more exact than that.
comparing us to monkeys is like comparing a train to a airplane. Not a black person to a white person. I think its even more distant than that. The differences between you and I are less than the differences of trim packages paint colors and engine types among GM products. There may be a lot of variables but we are not even trucks and cars… we are all the same car with 500 pages of variables in that car and most of the variables are there to accommodate the differences. The Point is there is a massive difference, Massive difference between us and anything else… AND that goes for 7 billion exact copies with 500 pages of slight modifications to make us one of a kinds.
So I think we can say there is a Adam and Eve… That there is a truncated line right back to one couple which is drastically different than anything else on the planet.
But you misunderstood what he said. It’s not actually 500 pages, meaning 500 big chunks. It’s letters scattered across all the pages adding up to 500 pages worth. And two different people would have a different 500 pages different. How you reduce that to 5 types is unclear.
No, that isn’t true either. You are only 1.2% different from a chimp. You’re only about 0.5% different from a Neandertal.
No, we can’t. But what is your purpose in coming to this site?
