That is a very interesting and sobering analogy! I don’t ever want to have that mentality. Indeed, alarms start going off in my head when miracles start accumulating in order for some story to work.

I’m crying “Uncle”. I searched hard, but cannot find it now. I’m sure it was a was a paper citing Theobald (2010), and doing a similar analysis. I recall the discussion mentioned objections to giving journal space to an article intended to debunk an already debunked theory, or something to that effect.
