What I do claim is that when we think natural laws are producing new MI, then it will always turn out on further analysis the MI came from somewhere else where it pre-existed. Chance and determinism can never produce a net increase in MI. This is just the law of information non-growth.

I still don’t understand your rebuttal to the issue of DNA replication, in which you claim that a copying function F has mutual information between itself and what it is copying, A:

A is the thing to be copied, and there is a function F that produces B , the copy. F needs the information in A to create B , so there is no information creation going on:

I( F : A ) >= I( B : A ).

Again, this doesn’t make sense to me because the function itself is a very simple set of instructions which could be applied to copy anything.
