But what might a better model be? Winston Ewert’s new paper (http://bio-complexity.org/ojs/index.php/main/article/view/BIO-C.2018.3 11) presents a dependency graph model, inspired by computer science. The paper uses model selection methods, and shows that the dependency graph model is a far superior model compared to common descent. The Current Status of Ewert's Dependency Graph of Life

I’ll wait a bit and see what develops out of Winston Ewert’s work, et al., when it is expanded, and I expect more developments in information and the time required, since biocomplexity and biodiversity are not shrinking, nor are the numbers of the discoveries in molecular and cellular biology.
