Looks like there is really cool stuff on the horizon
Very exciting! Do we know the morphology yet?
Prediction: if it takes after the Denisovan side it will have a flat face. Morphology will be more like the Morocco finds, which were early Denisovans and not early H. Sapiens.
What do Denisovans have to do with this? I’m confused…
Josh your thread title does not match what is on his pic. The line on his graphic says Neanderthal/Denisovan offspring. Maybe that line on his pic is confusing?
It’s Neandertals and Denisovans. Not sapiens
I am not able to open this. Any way to send me the whole paper. The title is fascinating, and if true, would infer that there was a lot of interbreeding between Sapians and Neanderthals at that time. No one is lucky enough to find a fossil from a singular event.
It’s not a paper yet. It looks like it will be announced and released at a meeting.
What conference? when?
Is this the link?
Or, by the same researcher:
This may be old news to some, but I’ll reference this, as well, regarding interbreeding:
This is one the pseudogenes we’d want to check for…
